[community profile] songerein Endwalker Canon Update

Character: G'raha Tia
Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
Current Canon Point: End of Shadowbringers
New Canon Point: End of Endwalker
Updated Background: I seem to be incapable of doing short summaries, but I decided to provide yet another bullet list summarizing what's written below to make it easier to read through.

πŸ’Ž The Scions left for Old Sharlayan to pinpoint precisely what the Forum was hiding
πŸ’Ž There was a report of a tower showing up in Thavnair
πŸ’Ž G'raha stayed behind to help Krile and Y'shtola with the research
πŸ’Ž He was caught in the restricted section of the library
πŸ’Ž They had to face the Forum at the Rastum about their activities
πŸ’ŽHe realized the purpose of their policies shifted over time
πŸ’Ž This started around 270 years ago when Sharlayan scholars researched the aetherial sea
πŸ’Ž The Students of Baldesion were to cease all activity in Sharlayan
πŸ’Ž They focused on the Tower of Zot
πŸ’Ž The team split into two groups to properly take care of the tower
πŸ’Ž One group to destroy the core of the tower and another to take care of the captives
πŸ’Ž G'raha helped with caring for the victims
πŸ’Ž The tower began to crumble with the core destroyed
πŸ’Ž G'raha used a levitation spell at the last minute to save them from falling to their deaths
πŸ’Ž No one had any significant injuries
πŸ’Ž G'raha expended much of his aether to pull it off and had to rest for a while
πŸ’Ž Nidhana spoke akasa being influenced by feelings rather than aether
πŸ’Ž The Ilsabard Contingent set out to help those in Garlemald who were victims of towers' influences
πŸ’Ž They made a temporary base at Camp Broken Glass
πŸ’Ž G'raha assisted in the reconnaissance efforts
πŸ’Ž The contingent had to deal with tempered soldiers
πŸ’Ž No one noticed the Warrior disappear during the conflict
πŸ’Ž When Warrior returned, but he immediately knew something was wrong
πŸ’Ž Fandaniel showed up and their souls were returned to the proper bodies
πŸ’Ž They had to stop Anima at the Tower of Babil
πŸ’Ž Fandaniel was able to break most of the barrier that bound Zodiark on the moon, but traveled there directly to break the last one
πŸ’Ž They had to deal with the tempered on their hands
πŸ’Ž The Warrior went to the moon alone while the others took care of things back at camp
πŸ’Ž Those who went to the moon came back later without Urianger with news about Zodiark's death
πŸ’Ž The Forum lifted the enchantment that kept them speaking about Forum secrets
πŸ’Ž They held a public assembly to discuss the exodus to the moon and finally spoke out about the Final Days
πŸ’Ž The Final Days first appeared in Thavnair
πŸ’Ž These beasts -- called blasphemies -- were once the people of Radz-at-Han
πŸ’Ž Once defeated, they disappear without a trace and were impossible to save once they've turned
πŸ’Ž G'raha joined the Warrior to speak with the survivors at Radz-at-Han to ascertain how it had started
πŸ’Ž They discovered the first victims were overcome with despair
πŸ’Ž Witnesses who saw these changes began a chain of transformations because of the panic
πŸ’Ž They changed even before the skies burned red, suggesting that anybody was vulnerable to this fate, even where signs of the Final Days are not currently present.
πŸ’Ž News of Palaka's Stand undergoing the Final Days set of an older woman's fear over her grandson's safety and set off a chain of people changing
πŸ’Ž After seeing the chaos around them, he channeled his inner Crystal Exarch, taking over control as he gave people orders
πŸ’Ž He sent the twins to go to Palaka's Stand while the rest remained to fight.
πŸ’Ž Vrtra revealed himself to the people at Radz-at-Han as the real Satrap
πŸ’Ž They had to find some way to speak with Hydaelyn, so G'raha suggested that the Warrior should return to the First to talk to Elidibus at the Tower
πŸ’Ž The Loporrits and Urianger returned from the moon to visit
πŸ’Ž The ark was prepared to disembark but was currently incapable of attaining the speed they needed to reach their goals sufficiently
πŸ’Ž Alphinaud proposed that the Scions solved their problem under two conditions
πŸ’Ž They must be permitted to meet with Hydaelyn and offer another use for the ark
πŸ’Ž They began their search for Allagan-refined adamantite and arcane relics and gathered more than was required of them
πŸ’Ž They had a run-in with Amon and Asahi before disappearing in the Aitiascope
πŸ’Ž While meeting with Hydaelyn, she tested their resolve
πŸ’Ž Each of the Scions was given a portable teleportation device to be used if they were in trouble. These devices worked in tandem, so all eight would send them back to the Ragnarok if one was pressed
πŸ’Ž Meteion appeared as she interfered with the equipment.
πŸ’Ž They landed on Ultima Thule, but Thancred was missing
πŸ’Ž They came across memories of many dead stars involving the dragons, intellectual beings called the Ea, and war-mongering machines set in Omega's world
πŸ’Ž Emotions barred their way forward each time. Each Scion eventually stepped forward to allow the Warrior to continue their way toward confronting Meteion
πŸ’Ž Estinien stepped forward first and volunteered himself while dealing with the dragons in place of Alphinaud. While speaking with the Ea, they confirmed the same panic-induced phenomenon they were facing was also the fate that Deneb III faced in the past. Y'shotola and Urianger stepped forward to deal with them.
πŸ’Ž G'raha stepped forward this time for the Omicrons.
πŸ’Ž He had the Warrior make him a promise for later. He wanted to see Ishgard with them, the Warrior to regale him the story of their most extraordinary adventures, and go on a new adventure together
πŸ’Ž He had tried to reason with M-017 to use their knowledge and strength for another purpose. He paved the way forward for the Warrior and twins by bridging a crystal pathway for them to take.
πŸ’Ž Once the Warrior confronted Meteion, they used Azem's creation abilities to bring the others back
πŸ’Ž A being called the Endsinger showed up, but it was too powerful. The Warrior sent them back to the Ragnarok with the portable teleportation device
πŸ’Ž Meteion had shown up on the ark to inform them that the Warrior was right behind them. They were highly concerned for their friend's safety when they never came
πŸ’Ž Once back at the Rising Stones, they decided to formally disband the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. They would retreat to the shadows once more
πŸ’Ž G'raha returned to Sharlayan with Krile to help rebuild the Students of Baldesion and help out wherever he could.

The Scions left for Old Sharlayan to pinpoint precisely what the Forum was hiding. They needed to gather the information to prevent the Telophoroi's plans to understand the situation. To do that, they first had to investigate the change in Sharlayan and the Forum's motives for acting the way they have thus far. There were worse problems at the moment, though. There was a report of a tower showing up in Thavnair, with a possibility of yet another lunar primal. Both situations seemed equally important, so they split into two groups. G'raha opted to stay behind to help with the research with Krile and Y'shtola. While looking into things at the library, he was caught in the restricted section while the others were in Labyrinthos.

While facing the Forum at the Rostum, they made their stance known. While he spent his time in the library, he studied the records regarding the Forum's policy-making process to understand the trends of their major decisions. At first, they were typical processes that didn't seem out of place. Because of his own experiences running a city, he realized that there was something more going on. At some point, the purpose of their policies shifted. Instead of preserving knowledge for the benefit of society, it had gradually shifted to ensure the preservation of knowledge. Labyrinthos's purpose -- notably as a giant storehouse initially -- transformed into an advanced archival facility for the sake of research. The funds that the Dravanian school made off of tuition were funneled into improving the archives. This course change was dated around 270 years ago when Sharlayan scholars researched the aetherial sea in depth. Montichaigne chimed in just in time, able to deflect the situation. Though the Students of Baldesion were to cease all activity in Sharlayan and any investigations into the Forum's decisions, it managed to save them a worse sentence. Failure to comply would result in their immediate expulsion from Sharlayan.

It hindered their progress, but there were other things they could attend to in place of investigating the Forum. The Tower of Zot was their next focus. Thanks to the help of Nidhana and the alchemists, they were able to get close to the tower. With all of the Arkasodara captives, including Nidhana, they set out to free those possible. The team split into two groups to properly take care of the tower with few casualties. The Warrior of Light went to destroy the core of the tower. Those who could heal were to sustain the captives as much as possible. G'raha joined Urianger, Krile, and Y'shtola, leaving the other group Alphinaud to have one themselves. They managed to destroy the core, but the tower began to crumble. They had little time to react and many lives in danger. G'raha did what he could at the last moment and used a levitation spell that he'd been working on in his spare time.

The tower disappeared as if it never existed, but no one had any significant injuries despite nearly falling to their deaths. G'raha was out for a while after expending so much aether. It also gave the others a reason to take a break until he came to once more. Once it was time to continue forward, Vrtra supplied the Scions with an abundance of talismans to take back for the Grand Order of Eorzea. The flower given to the Warrior of Light responded to Nidhana's intense emotions. Nidhana explained the phenomenon as an Hannish alchemical theory influenced by feelings rather than comparing it to aether like most were likely to do. Enjoying a small victory, the Scions brought food from the Last Stand to spend time together in the Warrior's chambers.

Despite their feelings on the empire, the Ilsabard Contingent set out to help those in Garlemald who were victims of towers' influences. They needed to understand what happened and gather information to combat the Telephoroi's advances. While Thancred set out with a few others to destroy magitek armor, they made their way to a temporary came they decided to use as a headquarters for a short while. They named their temporary base Camp Broken Glass after cracking the ice beneath them. If they were to survive the cold, they would have to find ceruleum to warm the heaters in the camp. He did his part to assist in the reconnaissance efforts, Thancred mentioning his vanishing spell coming in handy. Though the Warrior and twins returned with some Garlean soldiers and refugees, they became tempered and attacked the camp. No one noticed the Warrior disappear during the conflict.

The others were about to send a search party for the Warrior when they returned. Alisaie and G'raha greeted them first, but he immediately knew something was wrong. He could tell that this was not their friend. Though he knew not the cause, they were saved at the last moment by a random Garlean imperial soldier interrupting Zenos's attempts to attack them as the Warrior. With Fandaniel showing up, their souls returned to the proper bodies, but he claimed that it mattered naught when it gave him sufficient time to absorb the requisite amount for Zodiark's awakening. Anima had to be stopped at the Tower of Babil to stop his advances. However, they could not stop him, allowing him to break most of the barrier that bound Zodiark on the moon. Hydaelyn stumbled in behind them while using Krile's body to stop him from breaking all of the seals.

Fandaniel left them with a parting gift as he traveled to the moon to break the barrier along with Zenos with the help of an Allagan device. They were torn about what to do next. Fandaniel and Zenos needed to be stopped, but with the amount of tempered on their hands, they also needed to take care of the trouble back at camp. So the Warrior went to the moon alone while the others took care of things back at camp. After a while, Thancred, Urianger, and Y'shtola joined the Warrior on the moon. They came back later without Urianger with news about Zodiark's death. They also informed the others about the Forum's intentions with the moon.

Not long after their return, the Forum lifted the enchantment that kept them speaking about Forum secrets. They held a public assembly to discuss the exodus to the moon and finally spoke out about the Final Days. G'raha had assumed that this would be their last quiet night in a while and visited the Warrior later that night. He had been worried about the weight that they must be feeling, especially now more than ever while the Final Days were on their way. He expressed how the Warrior had lightened his load and his desire to do the same for them. "Let me share your burden." He wanted nothing more than to help lighten their load as much as possible, much like his attempts back on the First.

The Final Days first appeared in Thavnair with burning red skies, and creatures like sin eaters started to manifest. These beasts were once the people of Radz-at-Han. The people began to call them blasphemies. Once defeated, they disappear without a trace. Unlike those tempered by sin eaters or primals, there is no remaining trace of aether or a soul left, making them impossible to save once they've turned. While Estinien went with Vrtra, G'raha joined the Warrior to speak with the survivors at Radz-at-Han to ascertain what sparked the onslaught of blasphemies. They discovered the first victims who had changed were overcome with anguish and despair over some significant problem in their lives. Those who witnessed these changes began a chain of transformations because of the panic. The most alarming news was that they changed even before the skies burned red. That suggests that anybody is vulnerable to this fate, even where signs of the Final Days are not currently present.

Meeting up with survivors after the initial investigations, news of Palaka's Stand undergoing the Final Days set of an older woman's fear over her grandson's safety. This catalyst set off a chain of people changing. The Scions had their hands full, trying to calm everyone down and defeating blasphemies. With Ahewann getting eaten by a blasphemy while protecting a civilian, G'raha calmed him down. After seeing the chaos around them, he channeled his inner Crystal Exarch, taking over control as he gave people orders. He sent the twins to go to Palaka's Stand while the rest remained to fight.

Once they managed to get everything under control, Vrtra revealed himself to the people at Radz-at-Han as the real Satrap. Fourchenault arrived shortly after to speak to the Satrap to offer his people an escape to the moon. During this time, Nidhana suggested that the blasphemies drew energy from akasa. Once again, their next step was to find some way to speak with Hydaelyn. G'raha mentioned that the Warrior should return to the First to talk to Elidibus at the Tower. The others could not go along with them, so they stayed behind to take care of things there. Things calmed down by the time that the Warrior returned, but Zenos decided to drop in for a short while. With Zenos gone, the Loporrits and Urianger returned from the moon to visit them in Camp Broken Glass. Livingway stated they were there because the others had not come to the moon yet. With no news of any changes, they were worried something had happened and came to offer their assistance wherever it was needed. It was also a chance for them to see Etheirys for themselves.

The Forum agreed to discuss their plans about the great exodus under the conditions that they would only listen and learn instead of impeding progress. The ark was prepared to disembark but was currently incapable of attaining the speed they needed to reach their goals sufficiently. As to stood now, it would not be fast enough to travel for the number of trips required to save all of the resources and people in time before the Final Days. The aetherburner needed to be 6% more efficient in order. Alphinaud proposed that the Scions solved their problem under two conditions. First, they must be permitted to meet with Hydaelyn and offer another use for the ark. With the proposal passed in the meeting with the Forum, they met with Kokkol at Labyrinthos. They began their search for Allagan-refined adamantite and arcane relics to combine with the aetherburner. Thanks to their friends, instead of only gathering the 6% needed, they managed to push for 14% more with all of the resources gathered across the star.

On their search for Hydaelyn through Aitiascope, they had a run-in with Amon and Asahi before disappearing and forming a bridge towards Hydaelyn. While meeting with Hydaelyn, she tested their resolve. She believed that humanity could rise from despair and finally defeat Meteion and end the song of oblivion. They would have to be cautious, though. Hydaelyn informed them that Meteion's domain was formed of pure dynamis. With her gone now, she was the last of the ancients. The Scions enjoyed a brief respite before setting out for the journey. Each of the Scions was given a portable teleportation device to be used if they were in trouble before setting out. These devices worked in tandem, so all eight would send them back to the Ragnarok if one was pressed. With the help of the power of the Primals, they nearly reached the empty land of Ultima Thule that was ruled by dynamis. Unfortunately, Meteion appeared as she interfered with the equipment.

Once they came to, they had landed on Ultima Thule, but Thancred was missing. Upon arriving in Ultima Thule, they came across memories of many dead stars involving the dragons, intellectual beings called the Ea, and war-mongering machines set in Omega's world who sought to grow more potent out of fear of being conquered themselves. Emotions barred their way forward each time. After realizing that Thancred gave his life to make the place somewhere they could survive, each Scion eventually stepped forward to allow the Warrior to continue their way toward confronting Meteion. Each of these worlds sought out the release of oblivion, waiting until their death eventually came. Estinien stepped forward first and volunteered himself while dealing with the dragons in place of Alphinaud. While speaking with the Ea, they confirmed the same panic-induced phenomenon they were facing was also the fate that Deneb III faced in the past. Y'shotola and Urianger stepped forward to deal with them.

Meteion told them where they could find her, leading them next to the Omicrons where G'raha stepped forward this time. Before doing so, he had the Warrior make him a promise for later. First, he wanted to see Ishgard with them and take in the sights at a leisurely pace. Two, he wanted the Warrior to regale him the story of their most extraordinary adventures where it took place if possible. Stories were one thing, but he wanted to go with them as a first-hand account. And last but not least, he wanted to go on a new adventure together full of tons of excitement and joy. He had tried to reason with M-017 -- who had been the Matrix Stigma-1 in a vacant machine's body -- to use their knowledge and strength for another purpose beyond making sure they were stronger than the others. Offering to tell them about the First and his own journey, he paved the way forward for the Warrior and twins by bridging a crystal pathway for them to take.

Once the Warrior confronted Meteion, they used Azem's creation abilities to bring the others back with the help of Venat's final gift. A being called the Endsinger showed up, and though the Scions tried to hold their ground, the Endsinger was too powerful. The Warrior decided now was the time to send them back to the Ragnarok and out of harm's way while using the portable teleportation device. Meteion had shown up on the ark to inform them that the Warrior was right behind them, but they were highly concerned for their friend's safety when they never came. After the fight with the Endsinger and Zenos, it wasn't until then that they finally came to their senses.

Once back at the Rising Stones, they decided to formally disband the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. It took quite a bit of deliberation on their end to make such a decision. Though they would no longer be around formally, they would retreat to the shadows once more. G'raha returned to Sharlayan with Krile to help rebuild the Students of Baldesion and help out wherever he could.

Questions/Other: I wondered if it's possible to recover his Paladin job stone with the update.

Updated Personality: Much of G'raha's personality remains the same as before. The blasphemy transformations more than likely reminded him of when the Flood happened, and sin eaters first started to appear in the First. Of course, this is merely speculation, but it must have been hard for him to witness this scene once more.

Any other updates: Regarding abilities, G'raha hasn't changed much since before the update, but he does have a few new tricks up his sleeve. While in the Tower of Zott, he used a levitation spell at the last minute, managing to keep everyone from falling to their deaths and limiting the casualties. However, it did take a lot of aether and plenty of rest to recover. He had learned it from a stack of arcane books, though the real reason he began to learn it was to read from the higher shelves in the forbidden section because the shelves were too tall for him. Moving the ladder would have been too loud. I'm not sure if I mentioned it previously or not, but Miqo'te has a heightened sense of hearing. This is apparent was when Zenos came back as the "Warrior." He had been the first to notice their return.
